Apple Video Player (AVP) is a utility developed by Apple Computer for Macintosh systems equiped with an Apple MPEG Media System or Apple TV Tuner Card. It replaced Video Monitor for the viewing of real-time standard definition video from analog or digital sources in classic Mac OS.[1] It also supported playback from Video CD media. In 1998, Apple Video Player was superseded by Apple DVD Player, which was first supported by Mac OS 8.1.
