Double data rate refers to a computer bus in which data is transferred on both the rise and fall of a clock signal, effectively yielding twice the transfer rate of normal random-access memory (RAM) or SDRAM. Double data rate memory modules may be referred to as DDR RAM or DDR SDRAM.[1]
