Apple Developer Tools are a collection of utilities mainly designed for developer use, hence its name. It was included with early copies of Mac OS X, as well as new Macintosh computers, either on an optical disk or on the hard drive. Starting with the release of Xcode 4, the tools became available through the App Store instead of being bundled with the OS or Mac hardware. In 2015, all versions were still available via the Apple Developer website.
