recoveryOS is a compact operating system developed by Apple to be loaded in case of problems with the installation of macOS on a Mac with Intel or Apple processors.[1][2]
Description
When macOS Recovery mode is activated, recoveryOS is loaded from a hidden recovery partition on the startup drive.[1] If Internet Recovery is activated, it can downloaded over the Internet from an Apple server.[2]
