Robert N. Janoff is the graphic designer of the multicolor Apple logo that was introduced in 1977.
Early life and education
Janoff was born in Culver City, near Los Angeles, California. He studied industrial design at San Jose State University until 1970.[1][2]
Career
In 1977, Janoff began work at the Regis McKenna advertising agency in Palo Alto, where he was assigned to design the corporate identity of Apple Computer.[1] According to McKenna, inspiration for the rainbow colors was drawn from the work of another local commercial artist, Tom Kamifuji.[3]
