Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an internet protocol standard.

Description

Defined in RFC 1157, SNMP was developed to manage nodes on an IP network. However, it is not limited to TCP/IP. It also can be used to manage and monitor all sorts of equipment, including computers, routers, wiring hubs, and embedded devices.[1]
