SharePlay is a feature developed by Apple to allow users of its platforms to stream music or video content in sync to share the experience simultaneously. Content that requires a subscription or login would need all participating users to have access first.
History
SharePlay - WWDC 2021
Shareplay was first announced on June 7 at the 2021 Worldwide Developers Conference.[1] It became available to the public on October 25, 2021 as a feature of FaceTime in the iOS 15.1, iPadOS 15.1, and tvOS 15.1 updates. SharePlay support for Macs arrived with the macOS 12.1 (Monterey) update on December 13, 2021.[2]
Starting with iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13 (Ventura), and tvOS 16 in 2022, SharePlay would also be able to launched from within Messages.[3] Game Center will receive SharePlay integration, allowing users to be able to play games together.[4]
