BlueStacks for Mac is Here
BlueStacks is a free Android emulator developed by Bluestack Systems, Inc. The BlueStacks App Player can create a virtual machine to run Android software on an Intel-based host system. This is a popular option to run games for Android on a supported Mac.[1] iOS, iPadOS, and Apple Silicon users can use the cloud-based BlueStacks X player.[2]
System requirements
BlueStacks generally requires a Mac or PC from 2014 and later:[3]
macOS requirements
- macOS 10.12 (Sierra) through macOS 11 (Big Sur) is the required range. macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) is recommended.
- 64-bit Intel dual-core processor is required. Quad-core or better CPU with single-thread Passmark CPU benchmark greater than 1500 is recommended.
- Intel HD 5200 is the minimum required GPU. A discrete or Intel GPU with Passmark videocard benchmark greater than 750 is recommended.
- 4 GB RAM is required. 8 GB or higher is recommended.
- 8 GB of drive space is required. At least 32 GB of SSD space is recommended.
- OpenGL 2.1 or higher is required.
- Administrator privileges are required.
- 1280 x 800 is the minimum required resolution. 1920 x 1200 or higher is recommended.
Issues
BlueStacks for Mac has not yet been updated to support Apple Silicon or macOS Monterey.[3]
