The 4th-generation iPod, also known as iPod (Click Wheel) and iPod 4G, was an iPod model that was introduced by Apple Computer on July 19, 2004. The model lineup initially featured a monochrome display and later gained the color screen from the iPod photo on June 28, 2005. The lineup was discontinued on October 12, 2005 with the introduction of the 5th-generation iPod with video.

The iPod 4G added the click wheel, which moved all of the buttons directly onto the touch sensitive scroll wheel, adopted from the iPod mini, and added the Shuffle Songs command into the main menu of the iPod.
