apple

Mactracker is publicly-available database of Apple hardware models and operating system versions, created and developed in Canada by Ian Page. The actively-maintained database includes Apple products dating back to the Lisa (and under its later name, Macintosh XL), classic Compact Macs (1984–1996), ImageWriter printers, Apple Scanners, QuickTake digital cameras, iSight, iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPort, along with all versions of classic Mac OS, Mac OS X, macOS, and iOS. For each model of desktop and portable computer, audio clips of the corresponding Startup chime or Chimes of Death are also included.

Software history

The database is made available through a series of freeware applications for Mac OS X (now macOS), iOS, and iPadOS. The Mac version was launched on May 14, 2001 for Mac OS 9 and 10.0.[1] The version for iPhones and iPod touches was launched on April 22, 2009 for iPhone OS 2. The current iOS/iPadOS version also supports iPads from the same binary file, downloadable through the Apple App Store.[2] Versions had also been released for Windows and iPod classic, but are no longer supported.[3][4]
