Sago Mini is a series of edutainment video games developed by Piknik (previously Sago Mini) and published by Sago Sago Toys for iOS, iPadOS, and Android.

Releases

Sago Mini Doodlecast was the first app from Sago Mini to be released for iOS through the Apple iTunes Store, on November 10, 2011.[1][2] An interactive drawing game that could record the user's voice and actions, it was recognized among the App Store Best of 2013.[3]

Sago Mini Friends was released on August 7, 2014.[4][5]

Bundles

At the time, Sago Sago Toys was bundling its various Sago Mini apps into packs and bundles for sale at a discount through one-time perpetual licenses.[2][6] However, Spin Master acquired Sago Mini and Toca Boca in April 2016 with the intention of moving their library of titles to a software as a service subscription business model.[7] The subscription service began on May 25, 2017 with the launch of Sago Mini World, which replaced Sago Mini Friends on the Apple App Store and incorporated that app within it.[8]

On October 5, 2023, Spin Master launched Piknik to handle subscription services for Sago Mini and Toca Boca.[9]

Sago Mini World

Sago Mini World (also marketed as Sago Mini World: Kids Games) is Piknik's largest and most profitable bundle of Sago Mini apps. It presently features access to around 40 apps on a monthly subscription basis:[2][10][11]

Apple Arcade bundle

A smaller bundle for Apple Arcade was announced on March 12, 2024 and was released for iOS and iPadOS on the following April 4th under the title Sago Mini Trips+. No additional fees (besides Apple Arcade subscription) are required and it contains the following 4 apps, featuring 10 new vehicles exclusive to Apple Arcade:[12][13][14]
